May 06, 2024 |

Mankato, MN. The Elementary Education Post-Baccalaureate Program (MS in Elementary Teaching) graduated its first cohort of students on May 4th, 2024, in Mankato, MN. Fifteen students committed to attend 100% online courses for the past four semesters to complete their degree. Ten learners traveled to Mankato, MN, to attend the Minnesota State University, Mankato commencement ceremony to celebrate their achievement. In addition, faculty and staff were present to help celebrate the inaugural graduating cohort.

The MS in Elementary Teaching program is designed to help adult learners become licensed as elementary teachers in Minnesota. The program is designed for individuals who are looking to make a career change or have bachelor's degrees outside of education. It is the only program of its kind in Minnesota, and it is unique in that it is completely asynchronous, meaning that students can balance school with other commitments like work and family by completing the coursework on their own time.

Congratulations to the new graduates and good luck as you continue or start your career in education!
